Safety & Policies

Your clientele, community, guest's, and family's safety, comfort and confidence are incredibly important to us.

This page outlines and makes readily available to you booking policies, our safety practices, the products we use and other important information to help you make informed decisions before your event.

HanAhrt prioritises the health and safety of every guest. We exclusively use a selection of the following high-quality, professional cosmetic-grade face paints that are specifically formulated for use on the skin. These products meet stringent international safety standards and are designed for comfort and vibrant results.

Working Palette Disclaimer

Many face paints are transferred into re-useable working palettes to improve efficiency during events, minimise wastage, create custom palettes for specific events/bookings and reduce waiting times. Colours within working palettes may originate from one or more of the professional brands listed above. Some colours may also be blended together to create custom split cakes and colour combinations. Because paints are transferred into working palettes, it is not always possible to identify the exact manufacturer of every individual colour. Where practical, some paints remain in their original containers, and original ingredient information can be checked whenever available. Upon request we may be able to bring along a brand new paint that we can easily identify ingredients it is made from if necessary and subject to product availability.

Applying a small patch test on the inside of the wrist or under the chin is welcomed and encouraged if unsure.

Body Painting Safety

HanAhrt uses professional cosmetic-grade body paints that are specifically formulated for use on the skin. These products are designed to provide vibrant colours while being gentle, comfortable and easy to remove. Body painting is suitable for a wide variety of events including but not limited to; an alternative to face paint, maternity belly painting, cosplay, festivals, themed events, performances and special occasions. Before painting begins, we will discuss the design, expected duration and any specific requirements. Body paint will only be applied to healthy, intact skin and will not be applied over cuts, open wounds, rashes, sunburn, infections or contagious skin conditions. If you have allergies, eczema, dermatitis, highly sensitive skin or any medical condition that may affect your skin, please advise HanAhrt before painting. Appropriate privacy, professionalism and client comfort are always maintained during body painting sessions. For younger clients, parental or caregiver consent is required, and body painting will always be carried out in an age-appropriate manner. As with any cosmetic product, allergic reactions cannot be completely ruled out. A patch test can be requested; however, a successful patch test does not guarantee that a reaction will not occur.

Sensitive Skin & Patch Testing

If you or your child have sensitive skin, or any of the following skin conditions, we are happy to perform a quick patch test on the inside of the wrist. This simple step helps ensure everyone can enjoy our magic without any irritation.

  • Eczema
  • Dermatitis
  • Psoriasis
  • Highly sensitive skin
  • Cosmetic allergies
  • Previous reactions to cosmetics
  • Other skin conditions

Hygiene & Cleaning Practices

  • Using only professional cosmetic-grade products
  • Regularly cleaning and sanitising equipment
  • Using clean, fresh water throughout the event
  • Maintaining clean brushes and sponges
  • Not painting over cuts, grazes, open wounds, infections or contagious skin conditions
  • Following good hygiene practices throughout every event

My Commitment to Safety

Safety is a priority, and every reasonable precaution is taken to provide a safe and enjoyable experience for all guests. However, no cosmetic product can ever be guaranteed to be completely allergen-free or suitable for every individual, and face painting is provided at the client's own discretion. Parents or caregivers are responsible for advising HanAhrt of any known allergies, medical conditions or skin sensitivities before painting begins. This open communication allows us to ensure the best possible experience for everyone involved.

Additional Safety & Policy Sections

HanAhrt Pop-Up

The HanAhrt Pop-Up is a portable entertainment setup designed to bring HanAhrt services directly to events, parties, markets, festivals, corporate activations and community events.

Because the Pop-Up may include a combination of creative activities, equipment, displays, performers, balloons, cosmetic products, electrical equipment and/or interactive entertainment, the following additional requirements apply whenever a HanAhrt Pop-Up is booked or provided.

These requirements are intended to help keep guests, children, clients, venue staff and HanAhrt team members safe while allowing the Pop-Up to operate smoothly.

1. Suitable Setup Area

The Client or event organiser must provide a suitable area for the HanAhrt Pop-Up.

The required footprint depends on the services and equipment included in the booking and will be confirmed where necessary before the event.

The setup area must be:

  • reasonably level and stable;

  • free from avoidable hazards;

  • clear of excessive pedestrian traffic where practical;

  • suitable for the equipment being used;

  • accessible for setup and pack-down;

  • reasonably protected from weather where required;

  • large enough to allow guests and staff to move safely.

HanAhrt may modify the layout or position of the Pop-Up if necessary to maintain a safe working environment.

2. Access & Setup

The Client or venue must provide reasonable access for HanAhrt to:

  • unload equipment;

  • transport equipment to the setup location;

  • establish the Pop-Up;

  • access the area during the event; and

  • pack down and remove equipment.

Where the Pop-Up requires vehicle access, the Client or venue should provide suitable access as previously agreed.

Unexpected restrictions, blocked access, stairs, excessive distances, restricted loading zones or other site conditions may affect setup time and may require the setup to be modified.

3. Weather & Outdoor Events

The HanAhrt Pop-Up is not automatically suitable for all weather conditions.

For outdoor events, the Client or organiser must provide appropriate shelter where required.

HanAhrt may pause, relocate, modify or stop the Pop-Up or individual services due to:

  • heavy rain;

  • strong or gusty winds;

  • extreme heat;

  • excessive sun exposure;

  • lightning;

  • flooding;

  • unstable ground;

  • unsafe temperatures;

  • weather affecting equipment or products; or

  • any other environmental condition that creates an unreasonable safety risk.

The safety of HanAhrt team members, guests and equipment takes priority over continuing a service.

4. Wind & Gazebo Safety

Where a gazebo or other temporary structure is used, it must be appropriately secured for the conditions.

HanAhrt may refuse to erect or may dismantle a gazebo or temporary structure where wind or other environmental conditions make doing so unsafe.

The organiser must not move, alter, remove or interfere with HanAhrt's temporary structures, weights, anchors or safety equipment.

5. Electrical Equipment

Where the HanAhrt Pop-Up uses electrical equipment, HanAhrt will take reasonable precautions to operate the equipment safely.

Power leads and electrical equipment must not be interfered with, moved or disconnected by guests.

Children must not be permitted to play with electrical equipment, cords, plugs, lighting equipment or power supplies.

HanAhrt may refuse to use a power source that appears unsafe or unsuitable.

6. Equipment & Display Safety

Guests must not climb on, sit on, lean against, move or interfere with HanAhrt equipment, displays, tables, signage, props, storage containers, inflatables or other setup items unless specifically invited to do so.

Children must be supervised around the Pop-Up at all times.

HanAhrt may move or remove equipment where it becomes necessary to maintain a safe environment.

7. Creative Activity Areas

Where the Pop-Up includes face painting, glitter, temporary tattoos, balloon twisting, crafts, games or other creative activities, participants must remain within the designated service area and follow reasonable instructions from HanAhrt team members.

Parents and guardians remain responsible for supervising children.

HanAhrt is not a childcare service and the Pop-Up does not replace parental or adult supervision.

8. Balloons

Where balloons are included in the Pop-Up, the following additional precautions apply.

Balloons may:

  • pop unexpectedly;

  • contain latex;

  • create choking hazards;

  • create small fragments when damaged;

  • cause unexpected movement or distraction.

Children must not place balloons or balloon fragments in their mouths.

Popped balloons should be removed immediately.

Parents and guardians are responsible for supervising children around balloons and informing HanAhrt of known latex allergies where relevant.

9. Face Painting & Cosmetic Services

Where face painting, makeup, glitter or other cosmetic services are provided from the Pop-Up, the relevant HanAhrt hygiene, allergy and skin-suitability requirements apply.

HanAhrt may refuse or modify an application where the participant's skin appears unsuitable or where there is a reasonable safety concern.

Parents and guardians must advise HanAhrt of known allergies or sensitivities before application.

10. Queue & Crowd Safety

The Client or event organiser is responsible for managing general crowd flow and queues unless a separate queue-management service has been booked.

Where a queue becomes too crowded or creates a safety concern, HanAhrt may request that the organiser assist with crowd management.

HanAhrt may temporarily pause service while an unsafe queue or crowd situation is resolved.

For large public events, the organiser should ensure there is sufficient space for:

  • the working area;

  • the queue;

  • people entering and leaving the service;

  • emergency access;

  • general pedestrian movement.

11. Children & Unsupervised Access

Children must not be left unattended at the HanAhrt Pop-Up.

Parents, guardians, teachers, caregivers or event organisers remain responsible for supervising children.

HanAhrt team members may interact with children as part of providing entertainment services but do not assume responsibility for childcare or general supervision.

12. Food, Allergens & Dietary Requirements

If the Pop-Up includes lolly scrambles, confectionery, food-related activities or edible prizes, parents and guardians are responsible for determining whether those products are appropriate for individual children.

Where known allergies or dietary requirements have been communicated in advance, HanAhrt will make reasonable efforts to accommodate them where practicable.

HanAhrt cannot guarantee an allergen-free environment where multiple products, participants or external food providers are present.

13. Personal Belongings

Guests should keep personal belongings away from the Pop-Up working area.

HanAhrt is not responsible for loss or damage to personal property belonging to guests or event attendees, except to the extent liability cannot legally be excluded.

14. Damage to HanAhrt Property

The Client or event organiser may be responsible for reasonable repair, cleaning or replacement costs where HanAhrt property is damaged through intentional, reckless, negligent or unauthorised behaviour by the Client, guests, participants or persons under their supervision.

This may include damage to:

  • the Pop-Up structure;

  • gazebos;

  • tables;

  • signage;

  • costumes;

  • balloons;

  • inflatables;

  • props;

  • equipment;

  • lighting;

  • artwork;

  • displays.

15. Venue & Event Responsibilities

The Client or event organiser remains responsible for venue-specific matters within their control, including:

  • obtaining venue approval;

  • obtaining required permits;

  • providing appropriate event insurance where required;

  • ensuring emergency procedures are in place;

  • managing general event security;

  • managing general crowd behaviour;

  • communicating venue rules to HanAhrt;

  • disclosing known hazards and restrictions.

HanAhrt will cooperate with reasonable venue and event safety requirements.

16. Unsafe Behaviour

HanAhrt team members may ask a participant to stop behaviour that creates a safety risk.

If unsafe behaviour continues, HanAhrt may:

  1. pause the relevant activity;

  2. request assistance from the parent, guardian or organiser;

  3. remove the participant from the activity;

  4. relocate equipment where practical; or

  5. stop the relevant service if the risk cannot reasonably be controlled.

HanAhrt will not be required to continue a service where doing so would create an unreasonable risk to staff, participants, guests or property.

17. Emergency Situations

In an emergency, HanAhrt may immediately stop services and follow the venue's emergency procedures or other reasonable emergency response measures.

HanAhrt team members may contact emergency services where reasonably necessary.

The Client or event organiser remains responsible for the venue's overall emergency management unless HanAhrt has separately agreed to provide that function.

18. HanAhrt Team Safety

HanAhrt team members are entitled to a safe, respectful and appropriate working environment.

The Client, guests and event attendees must not:

  • threaten;

  • intimidate;

  • harass;

  • assault;

  • verbally abuse;

  • sexually harass;

  • discriminate against; or

  • deliberately obstruct

HanAhrt team members.

HanAhrt may immediately stop services or leave an event where serious or threatening behaviour creates an unreasonable safety risk.

19. Professional Discretion

HanAhrt reserves the right to use reasonable professional judgement regarding:

  • equipment placement;

  • activity suitability;

  • participant suitability;

  • design requests;

  • weather conditions;

  • product use;

  • crowd conditions;

  • performer safety;

  • setup and pack-down;

  • continuation or modification of services.

Where reasonably practicable, HanAhrt will discuss significant changes with the Client or organiser before making them.

Where there is an immediate safety concern, HanAhrt may act first to make the situation safe.

20. Modification or Cancellation of Pop-Up Services

If the Pop-Up cannot safely operate as originally planned because of weather, venue conditions, access restrictions, equipment issues or other circumstances outside HanAhrt's reasonable control, HanAhrt may provide a reasonable alternative where practicable.

This may include:

  • relocating the Pop-Up;

  • reducing or changing equipment;

  • substituting an activity;

  • changing the layout;

  • temporarily pausing services;

  • providing an alternative service; or

  • stopping the affected service.

HanAhrt will communicate with the Client or organiser where reasonably practicable.

21. Agreement to Pop-Up Safety Requirements

By booking a HanAhrt Pop-Up, the Client and/or event organiser acknowledges that:

  • the Pop-Up is an active entertainment environment;

  • children and guests require appropriate supervision;

  • certain services involve inherent and foreseeable risks;

  • the organiser must provide a reasonably safe event environment;

  • HanAhrt may modify or stop services where reasonably necessary for safety; and

  • these Pop-Up Safety & Policy Terms form part of the HanAhrt Terms of Service.

Safety comes first. The goal is to keep the HanAhrt Pop-Up fun, welcoming, accessible and safe for everyone.
